1. Bunkers
a. Hand smoothing in bunkers is allowed. Use the rake to form a small smoothed square area (rake width x rake width) and place the ball in the centre of this area. Under no circumstance should the sand be mounded or grooved behind the ball.
b. Balls that are in a plug created by your own shot are to be played as it lies.
2. Gimmes’
a. Gimmes are not allowed. Shots are counted until the ball is in the hole.
b. If you miss a tap in by being lazy – stiff shit.
3. Balls
a. Everyone is to mark their ball and announce ball type and number to playing group.
b. A different ball number is to be used when playing a provisional ball.
c. Playing an opponent’s ball is an automatic 2 shot penalty – no excuses.
4. Preferred Lies
a. Preferred lies allowed on fairways (1 card length-no closer to the hole)
b. Ball can be lifted and clean when on fairways and greens only.
c. Balls in rough are not to be touched or moved. If ball needs to be lifted for identification purpose, please call over playing partner before doing so.
5. Pace of play
a. Even though we are all keen to keep up the pace of play, there is no circumstance when you should be a shot distance ahead of your playing partners. Stay with your playing group.
b. If you are marking a card, please do so when it isn’t your turn on the tee.
6. Steps for marking your ball on green
a. Place marker or coin behind ball without touching ball. (a ball on the green should not be touched without a marker down behind it).
b. Lift ball – clean etc
c. Replace ball in the same position in front of the marker
d. Remove marker.
